Round 8 Rundown – Buttonwillow: The Finale

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a year and that our final round is this Saturday, December 2nd! In typical Roadster Cup fashion, we’ll be ending the year at Buttonwillow followed by dinner at Willow Ranch. Weather was a hot topic in the Roadster Cup Facebook group as the chance of rain has been continually fluctuating (it is currently at 0% and it will be partly cloudy), but it looks like it is going to be nice and cool and a chance for new records and PBs. This is a Roadster Cup and Vtec Club exclusive event and things will be a little bit different this round.

Registration – Arrive between 7:00-7:30am

I will be there early and we will have our own registration line. Before coming to register with us, you must have a Driver Waiver and general tech form filled out. We will have Roadster Cup tech forms available, but I recommend printing one (download and print here) ahead of time and bringing it with you. So you will have a grand total of 3 forms. Every participant MUST have a Roadster Cup tech form turned into timing. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.

Timing is free and included with your track day. Timing will only have one line for all drivers (so it could be a long wait!). I recommend heading straight to the timing line after registration. You will turn in your Roadster Cup Tech form to Timing. Before going to timing, make sure you have your tech form filled out with the appropriate class so the timing guy can input your information. You must trade an ID or Credit Card as collateral to receive timing. Even if you rent a helmet and leave your ID for that, you still have to leave a second form of ID or a Credit Card with timing. Your ID will be returned to you once you’ve returned your transponder. If two people are sharing a car, each driver must have their own transponder and run only one transponder on the car at a time in correspondence with the driver. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.

Drivers Meeting – We will have our drivers meeting at 8:00 am

We will have one comprehensive meeting with both Roadster Cup and Vtec Club drivers.

Roadster Cup Private Group

There will be one Roadster Cup only (Miata exclusive) group for advanced drivers. All sessions below advanced, high intermediate, low intermediate, and beginner will be mixed with Honda drivers. The high intermediate and low intermediate groups will be gridded. We will try to grid the first Roadster Cup only session based on previous lap times. Those in the advanced, intermediate, or beginner group will share the track with other cars.

All groups will grid approximately 10 minutes after they announce the session beforehand. We will try to make as many announcements as possible to make sure that you do not miss the call to grid. Any additional time used to grid will cut into your driving time.  BE ON TIME TO GRID! Failure to be on time to grid may result in losing your grid spot, and you will be sent out at the back of the group.

Additional Information

  • Each driver has until their 4th session to set their fastest time.
  • We will have our season stickers available
  • Shirts will be available for purchase
  • Track maps and additional facility information can be found Here

We’re really excited to get back out on track after the break, looking forward to seeing you all there!
