Round 2 Rundown: Chuckwalla!

Round 2 will be hosted at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway this Saturday. We’re really excited to be heading back to CVR with a Roadster Cup and Vtec Club exclusive event this year! There is plenty of information about the facility available on CVR’s website, including track maps and camping details if you’d like to head out with us on Friday evening.

We’re also really excited to be raffling off a radiator provided by Koyorad as one of the prizes for this season! If you haven’t signed up for this weekend’s event you can register for the Saturday event here. Come out and get your name in the hat for that sweet new radiator!

A Few Extra Tips

CVR is a great track and a very nice facility but it certainly is hot and pretty far out there; amenities are often miles away. We  recommend that you bring lots of water, snacks, lunch, and shade if you can. I know I’m bringing my chair and an umbrella!

Registration – Arrive between 7:00-7:30am

Touda and I will be there early and we will have our own registration line. Before coming to register with us, you must have a Driver Waiver and general tech form filled out. We will have Roadster Cup tech forms available, but I recommend printing one (download and print here) ahead of time and bringing it with you. So you will have a grand total of 3 forms. Every participant MUST have a Roadster Cup tech form turned into timing. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.

Timing is free and included with your track day. Timing will only have one line for all drivers (so it could be a long wait!). I recommend heading straight to the timing line after registration. You will turn in your Roadster Cup Tech form to Timing. Before going to timing, make sure you have your tech form filled out with the appropriate class so the timing guy can input your information. You must trade an ID or Credit Card as collateral to receive timing. Even if you rent a helmet and leave your ID for that, you still have to leave a second form of ID or a Credit Card with timing. Your ID will be returned to you once you’ve returned your transponder. If two people are sharing a car, each driver must have their own transponder and run only one transponder on the car at a time in correspondence with the driver. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.

Drivers’ Meeting – We will have our own drivers’ meeting at 8:00am for Group 1, 8:20 for Group 2

The Roadster Cup run group will have a separate drivers’ meeting at the same time as the general drivers’ meeting. We will go over gridding, flags, passing, Roadster Cup procedures, and will answer any questions you may have.

Roadster Cup Private Groups

We will have two private gridded run groups. Group 1 will be advanced with open passing. Group 2 will be point by only in the straights. We will try to grid the first session based on previous lap times.

The Roadster Cup group will grid when they announce the session beforehand. We will try to make as many announcements as possible to make sure that you do not miss the call to grid. Any additional time used to grid will cut into your driving time.  BE ON TIME TO GRID! Failure to be on time to grid may result in losing your grid spot, and you will be sent out at the back of the group.

Additional Information

  • Each driver has until their 4th session to set their fastest time.
  • The raffle will be immediately following the awards and you must be present to win
  • Track Map

See you there!
