Last weekend was the 4th round of the Roadster Cup, putting us close to our halfway mark for this season. We trekked out to Chuckwalla Valley Raceway, about 30 minutes outside of Arizona. This was a very interesting round because it was the first time at Chuckwalla for most of our drivers. Let’s jump right into the action!
Still leading the Enthusiast Class overall points, Dane Remo stole 3rd place by 3 tenths with a time of 2:15.239.
In 2nd place we had a newcomer to the Roadster Cup. Piloting his NA was Kyle Koh. He pulled off second place with a time of 2:14.598.
David Martinez, who has spent most of his seat time in an FF car is finally getting used to FR, and it’s showing. David took the win with a time of 2:13.734. He’s now only 13 points behind Dane for the overall lead.
In Street class we had Zee Reid in his NC claim third place with his time of 2:11.550. This podium moved Zee into 2nd place in the overall championship.
Jerry “Awesome” Arnone pulled off second place with a time of 2:11.011. This put Jerry in 1st place in the overall championship.
Since his move down to Street, Jorge Castillo is two for two. Jorge took the Street Class victory with a time of 2:10.881. He is currently in 4th place overall and is eyeing that top spot.
Modified was an interesting battle, and we had two first timers on the podium, including a few drivers from our sponsors.
In 3rd place with a time of 2:04.176 was Emilio Cervantes, Roadster Cup first timer.
In 2nd place in the “s2k Miata” was Will Watanawongkiri with a 2:03.452. Will is second place in the overall championship, a few points behind Joe Robles.
Driving on behalf of our awesome sponsors, Good Win Racing, Ryan Passey took 1st place in Mod with his crazy fast time of 1:58.167.
Since our podium finishers were vendors or there on behalf of sponsors, the entire podium graciously passed their prizes onto the 4th-6th place finishers:
4th- Justin Ross 2:04.372
5th – Joe Xie 2:05.119
6th – Alex Tan 2:05.517
